His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Okorocha,
Executive Governor of Imo State
Politics played in Imo state was a series of connected historical events that all braced together to support the political future and growth of Governor Rochas Okorocha and paved way for his outstanding political career. It is however, impossible to mention Imo State and not mention the governor, His Excellency Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha. His many achievements has scribbled his name in the political history of Imo State.
It was a journey that was well laid on a solid foundation to strengthen the footstones of his anticipated 2023 political ambition to become the president of Nigeria in the next four years motivated by a carefully played politics and reason for doing what is right and just. Doing more good demands greater power and that power Rochas has found in the governorship seat and has left a good and exemplary mark and also seeks in the senate and possibly from the senate to becoming the president of Nigeria.
Governor Rochas’ second tenure and the slow progress is excused and is an evidence of his preoccupied forecasted political pursuits of a great future for Imo state and its indigenes, South East and the country in general. Rochas Okorocha’s bigger picture of Imo State has been misinterpreted as maladministration of his office in his second tenure. He has grown from a politician to a great philanthropist, expanding his arm across Nigeria.
Thus, his shocking intentions for presidency in 2023 has left many politicians on their toes, with their mouth agape and wondering what move the reputable political dancer will pull next. The Governor of Imo state, Father of infrastructure croons to strengthen the political will of the south east but has been met with many challenges ranging from his party, APC and in the conduct of Imo state political affairs in his second tenure as the outgoing governor. This is excused because of his pursuit for a seat in the senate which distracted him from his short term goals and focused on getting to where the big decisions concerning the poor masses and the country are being made.
Being a governor was just a step in the right direction to correct the misrepresentation of the Igbo in the caucus of the political arena. Rochas Okorocha in a press conference with newsmen stated that his clear intention to contest for presidency in 2023. This well tossed dice is built around the very first move to contest for a senator seat in 2019, a graduation from his governorship over Imo state to the National Assembly. If elected, Rochas will serve as the bridge that will connect the south east to the federal government and bring substantial growth in infrastructure and a relaxed entry into politics to the grassroot level in Imo and all of South East.
The bereaved Imo State indigenes do not buy into his beautiful long term plan of liberating the south east from the limitations of being the silent minority but will soon come to realize the reason for his unsatisfied second tenure as a plan to sacrifice a meal for a bountiful feast.
